The London College of Communication has a new cafe/bistro/meeting space on the ground floor level, designed by LCC alumni Morag Myerscough with Supergroup. The new bar and food counter feature the award winning Plumen pendant lights and lovely, yet pricey snacks and drinks for the emerging creative. The stools featuring 1988 letraset typefaces are used in combination with beautiful color-laminated tables and vintage school chairs (photo to follow!). Job well done!

The new wooden benches and tables outside our college are being used as sketchbooks. Some very witty and some very bad stuff. Interesting nonetheless!

Super Graphics

Supergraphics Live Feed is a project set up to document the working patterns of the London College of Communication’s BA Graphic and Media Design final year students during the countdown to their deadline. It provides an ever changing snap shot into students’ working patterns and environments through images captured from participant’s webcams.

It will be live until 4pm 14 May 2010 and is updated every 5 minutes.

Well done

Congratulations to LCC’s BA Graphic & Media Design graduate Min-Kyu Choi and his amazing folding plug. He recently won the Brit Insurance Award.

The plug is just 10mm wide when it is folded. To unfold it, the two live pins swivel 90 degrees and the plastic surround folds back around the pins so the face of the plug looks the same as a standard UK plug.

Sketching II

My friend and I were messing around with ideas to enhance the main entrance space of the LCC and started to sketch on the closest thing at hand… I already have written about the process of sketching and how important I think it is. (More…)
